Massive Support for our Congestion Charge Campaign
Derby Conservatives have launched a high profile direct-action campaign to highlight Labour's plans to introduce a congestion charge for the City Centre.
When the congestion charge is brought in, drivers would be charged a daily fee to enter the Derby City Centre area. They would also have to pay a parking fee should they use a Council or commercial car park.
Our campaign is receiving overwhelming support. Currently, a massive 87% of those taking part in our survey have expressed their opposition to a Derby Congestion charge.

The Conservatives are the only political party that is fighting on their behalf and both the local Labour group and Gordon Brown's government is refusing to listen to Derby residents, workers and businesses.
Local Labour boss, Councillor Williamson has described our campaign as a 'cheap shot'.
We believe there is nothing 'cheap' about a Congestion Charge in Derby City:-
Derby Conservatives believe that the Government is holding local councils to ransom by withholding investment in local transport infrastructure unless road charging is introduced.
Derby Conservatives feel that this is simply another tax that will do nothing to reduce congestion.
Derby Conservatives feel that local businesses will suffer and vital investment in Derby would be driven away.
